Deer Painting

I was commissioned to paint a deer.  I love deer, live with two deer skulls and assorted other parts, and deer visit my yard.  I try to learn from deer about both gentleness and ferocity. Painting my 1st deer was awesome.

Even so, I was not sure whether it was a good painting.  FB buds, thank you again, your likes cleared my worries! I’m so new a painter I can’t judge my work.  My client likes it too, yay! (I was afraid it might be too girly for him.)

I was inspired to try to paint my second deer. (Pic of it is above.) Had an design in mind. I felt there was another deer spirit who wanted his portrait painted. Got on a roll, finished it today! That is why these aren’t fancy pics. Here is a big pic of it, scroll past it to read more.

I did the painting on a men’s XL cotton T-shirt. The blue lines will wash out, they are just my rough sketches of what I wanted.

Talk about girly, I outlined parts of the deer in green, it kinda looks like eyeshadow on his eyes. Yaya!

I wonder if deer spirit will call me to paint more deers. If so, it will be different. I can’t copy well, not even copy my own work! I will say, the two deer are more similar than most of my other paintings.

Let’s play grown-ups:  Make me an offer, someone, this shirt is for sale. Whatever you offer, I will reduce that price by $5, because you will have to wash the shirt yourself. My washer is acting up, stained the last two painted shirts I put in it, both of which I was going to sell,  but now can’t, argh!

Now I have to patient, I can’t set the dye on this shirt til tomorrow.

OK, anyone have an offer I feel good about?

PG on FB, you got dibs if you like the shirt (and act quickly enough, heh).

Everyone else, post an offer below, XL may be too big for PG.

Hugs, having fun, FDG

    I just wanted to say thank you for the shirt. It is even more amazing and beautiful in person. ♥ ♥ ♥. Somehow you managed to capture an ineffable ~something~ that makes me relate to the image in an indescribable and primal way.

      Thank you thank you! Your post makes me happy. I love sharing my art. Plus, as I said to someone else earlier today, ego inflating like a balloon… inflating… inflating… Pop! Hugs!

    I have bought a few items thru your etsy shop before.

    Thank you for the great price on the shirt, I instantly fell in love w/ it. My husband recently lost his job and he was the one who paid the bills, so if it had been any higher it would have been out of the budget.

    I read ‘Be a Goddess’ when it came out and found it to be one of the best teaching books ever. I kept my out for other titles and have been following your work as an author ever since. I have nothing but the highest regards for you and I was surprised at how open and friendly you are. So thank you not only for the shirt but for helping grow along my spiritual path.

    Bright blessings to you!

      Yeh, I thought it might have been the Etsy shop. Thank u for such kind words re my work, i need that support. Though they are also humbling. Heh, which I also need. As to my being open, yeah, people assume I am “one of them” – whatever they personally think of as that – as opposed to just another human being. (I am not saying you assume that. if you did, you wld have not seen me as open.) The best sellers were pure chance. Mind you, I worked on those books about a decade apiece. So I am not implying they did not deserve to be read. I mean that getting to be read has nothing to do with the quality of one’s work. It is often a case of having the money to promote yourself. Or in my case, pure luck, otherwise known as the Faerie Queen wanted those books read. 🙂

      Well, my new book is still really struggling. I think the gods are trying to teach me yet more patience, LOL! And to reach out for support consistently. So if you or anyone seeing this can share the link re the book: https://www.outlawbunny.com/share-my-insanity-it-improves-everything/

      Thanks for everything, Phaedra, you are really so nice to me!!

      Woohoo , PG, woke up to see yr payment. Nice way to start my day, both the sale and yr kind words you enclosed with payment, you doll, thank you.

      Hey, I sold this shirt for $160. http://www.etsy.com/transaction/65101269  I would not hav priced the deer near as high but you still got a great price, and it is fun to surprise you after your purchase by telling you that. (If it is a surprise.) Though. LOL, it shows what a bad saleswoman i am, for not mentioning it when we were setting a price. 😉 But I feel great bc u love the shirt and I hav $ for a bill!

      BTW, I so enjoy getting to connect with a new person as I have with you recently. But meeting someone online can be without contxt. I feel we already met somewhere. Did you email me at some point or …?

    PG, saw yr FB post. Thanks, this is fun, I am getting to sell out of the back of my virtual tinker’s wagon! And yr reaction to the painting makes me so happy.

    Oh, I shld make clear I can only ship to the U.S., so I hope you are in U.S.

    I need money for a bill stat. So here is my proposal:
    * If you buy it sometime weds, by PayPal,
    * the price is $35.
    * As mentioned above, I reduce that by $5, because you have to wash the shirt yourself.
    * S & H $2.00
    * total: $32
    * That is for a one of a kind handpainted shirt, signed and dated by artist. Some people just frame the paintings I do even though they are on clothing and napkins and the like. But this also would be a great ritual piece of clothing, more comfy than a ritual robe.   Or just worn cause it is pretty, LOL.

    Heh, I do feel like I am at an old village green with my cart!

    Let me know if all that works for you. Thank you so much for your interest!

    Oh, PayPal payment: go to http://www.paypal.com * Log into your account * Click Send Money tab. * Use outlawbunny@outlawbunny.com as the Recipients Email. * Fill in the amount of $32. * Put the following in the notes section: the words “Deer art”; your name; the address you want me to ship to; your phone #. La!
